I am Jonas Betz, a passionate crypto analyst with professional experience in the fundamental analysis of crypto assets. I firmly believe that blockchain technologies will play a central role in solving societal and economic issues in our rapidly digitalizing world.
My goal is to educate about cryptocurrencies and the underlying systems through carefully researched content. Thus, I can clarify misunderstandings and misinformation that are currently circulating.
I was able to acquire the financial, technical, as well as macro- and microeconomic education needed for this during my Bachelor’s degree in International Management with a financial focus. My growing enthusiasm for the world of crypto at that time resulted, among other things, in my bachelor’s thesis on the construction of a crypto portfolio based on the principles of modern portfolio theory, which ultimately led to my graduation with honors.
Following my studies, I turned my passion into a profession and worked as a crypto analyst for a leading German crypto fund catering to professional and semi-professional investors (F5 Crypto Capital GmbH).
My responsibilities included research to identify profitable crypto assets, followed by the development of investment strategies for the senior management. I also drafted detailed fundamental analyses of blockchain projects and their crypto tokens, and assessed macroeconomic, political, and legal developments in the crypto domain. In addition, I represented the fund at several industry trade fairs, and built an extensive network of crypto entrepreneurs and developers.
I have had the opportunity to share my acquired crypto expertise through guest lectures at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) with interested students. Although I’ve also gained valuable experience in traditional companies like Brose Fahrzeugteile SE & Co. KG and Daimler AG, the dynamic and innovative world of cryptocurrencies remains a primary focus of my professional interests. This is why I decided to create my own website, Betz-Crypto, while continuing my Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Economics at BTU Cottbus.
